Plot: The plot revolves around a teenager Tally (Joey King) who is awaiting a cosmetic procedure to go from “Ugly” to “Pretty” as soon as she turns sixteen. She shares a special bond & a scar with Peris (Chase Stokes) who’s about to conduct the procedure. Not everybody agrees to get the cosmetic procedure done and Tally stumbles upon one such person Shay (Brianne Tju) who is part of the cult called “The Smoke” led by Davis (Keith Powers). It is later revealed that being pretty comes at a cost, it limits your brain’s capacity with the reins being in the hands of Dr. Cable (Laverne Cox). After spending some time in “The Smoke” Tally realizes she doesn’t want to transform. In the flashback, it’s revealed that David’s parents are scientists working under Dr. Cable and are almost transformed but manage to flee Sadly,  in the process, their research is destroyed. Ever since, they have been trying to create a cure to ward off the ill-effects of the cosmetic procedure on the brain. A fight ensues between Dr. Cable’s soldiers & the rebels leading to the latter being taken for the procedure to the lab. Once in the lab, the serum that can cure the brain is found and Tally volunteers to try it out. In the end credits, we see the “Pretty” Tally looking outside a window and smiling with the scar still on her palm indicating that she kept her promise.
