It is a sequel to Good Newz (2019) although it has a fresh cast. Bad Newz literally lives up to its name. It’s bad news for the director, producers & audience.
Plot: It touches upon the topic of heteropteran superfecundation, a reproductive process in which twins are born to the same mother, but from different biological fathers. We have Vicky Kaushal as Akhil Chadda, Tripti Dimri as Saloni Bagga & Ammy Virk as Gurbir Singh Pannu forming a love triangle of sorts.
Verdict
Although the movie is intended to be a rom com, it fails to deliver. It just glorifies the culture of a rich spoilt brat & mama’s boy. Despite its novel theme, it is a non-entertainer. I expected better from Vicky Kaushal as he has done meaningful cinema in the past. Tripti Dimri gets the temperature soaring but alas has no acting skills. Ammy Virk should just stick to what he does best, singing.
